Sit privacy

Sit is a meditation timer for Android. It does not collect personal data, and nothing leaves your phone.

Updated

Sit (tech.subash.sit) is a meditation timer for Android. This page is the privacy policy for that app.

Sit does not collect personal information. There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads, and no network calls from the app for tracking or marketing.

What stays on your phone

Sit stores a short session log and your settings on the device only, in Android SharedPreferences. The log keeps the date, duration, and whether a sit completed. Settings are things like timer length and bell choices.

That data does not leave your phone through Sit. Uninstalling the app removes it with the app.

Wear companion

If you use a Wear OS companion with Sit, the phone and watch talk to each other over Google’s device-to-device Data Layer. That traffic stays between your own devices. Sit does not send that data to a server.

Bells while you sit

While a sit is running, Sit may use a foreground service with media playback and a wake lock so the start, interval, and end bells can still sound when the screen is off. That is only so the timer works. It is not used to record audio or to send anything off the device.

Children

Sit is not directed at children, and it does not knowingly collect information from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top.
